NaPoWriMo 6: Good News

When God died
I built one new from man and spit
and loved him with the quaking fervor
of a displaced faith.

When I lost this god as well,
the ground pulled away in swathes
and left faith there lying
roots cindered and exposed

So I set out on a pilgrimage
with bare foot and ashen face
to locate a place without gods
and devote myself to its convent.

Which brings me to my point, Sir: Have you heard the Good News?
Religion is dead!
Reason is risen!

Please come find solace with us here
while we teach you how to save the world
by hating the deluded.

    Smithy,
this poem somewhat resembles my lives journey. ๐Ÿ˜‰
BTW, in response to your ‘Huh’ to one of my comments, I’m nearly eighty.

ah a novel idea…saving the world through hate…
isnt that what we are doing now?
